About the Author
As a child, IVAN BRUNETTI loved to make images out of simple shapes. Today, he is a respected art professor as well as an artist and a cartoonist. Ivan has published many acclaimed books for adults, including Cartooning: Philosophy and Practice. Wordplay, about compound words, was his first book for children, and was joined by 3x4, about basic multiplication. Ivan continues to use shapes in his art to this day: “The more you look at this book, the more shapes you’ll find. My drawings always start with roughly doodled simple shapes, which I then slowly ‘smooth’ out. If they start to get too complicated, I try to make them simple again.”
