Everyone knows that kids love comics but until now, it was hard to find comics that were just right for young readers. TOON Books now combines its high-quality, award-winning comics with a rigorous genre study aligned to the Common Core State Standards for Reading, Writing and Speaking & Listening. The unit emphasizes the development of students’ visual as well as verbal literacy and culminates with a publishing party at which students present their self-authored comic books.
