Easy-to-Read Comics for Emerging Readers

With the help of educators, we design our Level 2 books for first- and second-graders who are scaffolding their reading skills--but they're also perfect to be read aloud to any child.
Level 2 books feature 1-4 panels per page, contain about 300-600 words in short sentences and include repetition and many of the sight words early readers have to learn. The facial expressions and body gestures that are at the core of our comics encourage social and emotional learning.

Read and re-reread these books with young children or let them read on their own and discuss the characters and stories with you. The comic format helps every young reader develop and master 5 core reading comprehension strategies and skills that will lead to fluency: Visualization & Imagining, Making Connections, Retelling, Summarizing & Synthesizing, and Compare and Contrast.
